Clubs praise Casey Fields

CRANBOURNE sporting group officials have warmly praised the new Casey Fields (CF) sporting facilities.
Speakers at the official opening of the football cricket and netball precinct and tennis centre on Monday acclaimed the evening as an exciting time for sport in the region. Cranbourne Cricket Club captain Glen Weir said the official opening was an exciting time for his club.
“Next year our club celebrates its 120th year and this is appropriate for that milestone,” he said. “The City of Casey has shown real vision in this development. This is a great facility and wonderful for everyone.”
Cranbourne Tennis Club treasurer Con DiPietro said the tennis club began in 1921 and been successful over the years.
“It is great for the club to be part of these wonderful facilities,” he said. “This complex will see sport in the area blossom and with it so will tennis.”
Casey mayor Kevin Bradford said the council was proud and excited to be building one of the most comprehensive and modern sporting and recreation facilities in Australia.
“Participation of local sporting clubs alongside premier league clubs Casey Scorpions and the Casey South Melbourne Cricket Club will be a great spectacle and a great inspiration,” he said.
