Thieves steal car, equipment

THIEVES stole a car and thousands of dollars worth of mechanical equipment during a raid at Fast Fit Exhaust in Cranbourne recently.
Police said the burglary occurred at the High Street workshop between 1.30am and 5.30am on Sunday, 19 March.
It is believed the thieves cut through four cyclone wire fences, tore a security door, pried open a metal door and cut the padlocks to gain entry to the workshop.
A large amount of tools and diagnostic equipment was stolen before they drove away in one of two cars parked in the shop.
The maroon 1996 Mitsubishi Magna sedan, registration OUC471, is valued at about $8000.

A quantity of cash was stolen from a takeaway pizza shop in Pearcedale last week.
It is believed thieves jemmied the back door and forced the cash box open before fleeing with the money.
Police said neighbouring shops in the Pearcedale shopping precinct on Baxter-Tooradin Road also reported fresh jemmy marks on their shop doors.

POLICE are investigating a burglary at a vacant house on the South Gippsland Highway in Cranbourne.
It is believed thieves broke in to the building, which is used as an office, sometime between 4pm on Friday 10 March and 8.35am on Friday 24 March.
They stole the rear door, a window, wood heater and old ride-on lawn mower. Police said they attempted to take a split system air conditioner and washing machine, which they left at the back door.

THIEVES attempted to steal an evaporative air conditioner from the roof of a Cranbourne home.
Police said a neighbour noticed 12 roof tiles missing from the Fairhaven Boulevard property sometime between 12.30pm and 5pm on Friday 24 March.
Further investigation showed that someone had tried to remove the air conditioner, worth thousands of dollars, from the roof.

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an attempted burglary at a home in Bellarine Drive in Cranbourne recently.
It is believed a group of men tried to break in to the house sometime between 2pm and 2.30pm on Sunday 19 March but couldn’t break through the front security door.
Neighbours reported hearing several voices and banging before the group drove away.
The occupants of the house were inside at the time.
