AUSTRALIAN spirit rose to new heights at Hampton East Retirement Village this week after a visit from Holt MP Anthony Byrne.
Mr Byrne dropped in on Tuesday to deliver a new Australian flag to residents at the Hampton Park facility.
Retirement Village manager Kevin Adams said patriotic residents were happy to accept the donation before enjoying a special afternoon tea.
“Our old flag was pretty worn and tattered because we fly it every day.
“We are very patriotic here.
The Australian flag is always up, rain, hail or shine so we were delighted to accept this new flag from Anthony Byrne,” he said.
Mr Byrne said: “It’s a great pleasure to be able to present a flag to the retirement village and meet with our senior citizens who have contributed to the community.”
