Expressions of interest are now open for three creative workshops at the Lynbrook Community Centre to be held in October and November by Casey Council.
Hosted by Casey Council in partnership with Feifei Curiosity, the free workshops will give youth of all genders and cultures the opportunity to explore what respect means to them through dance, photography and poetry.
The workshops consist of a dance workshop on Wednesday 25 October, a photography workshop on Wednesday 8 November and a dance and poetry workshop on Wednesday 22 November, with each workshop running from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
Aligning with the council’s strategic objectives under A Safe and Equal Casey: A Gender Equality and Prevention of Violence Against Women Strategic Plan 2022-2032, the workshops will aim to provide a platform for community-led and strengths-based initiatives, enabling people from diverse multicultural and multilingual communities to build positive, equal and respectful relationships.
Following the workshops, participants will showcase their performances and display their creations at the 16 Days of Activism Respecting Youth Voices event at Bunjil Place on Wednesday 6 December.
Participants must be able to attend all three workshops and the community showcase event.
As a thank you, participants will receive a voucher for attending all three workshops and the community showcase event.
