Late starters lament at Lang Lang

Morning players had the better of the conditions at Lang Lang Golf Club on Saturday with many afternoon players not finishing their rounds due to the relentless rain.

A strong field of 104 still assembled for a game of single stableford.

The Division 1 winner was Brandon Gardiner (Peninsula Kingswood GC) with 41 points from runner up Bart McDonald with 35 points via countback from third-placed Matthew Skinner.

The Division 2 winner was Fia TooToo with 35 points from runner up David Marotta with 34 points, third place went to Steve Jones with 32 points.

In Division 3, the winner was Vern Hall with 37 points from runner up David Wylie with 35 points, third place went to Andrew Poxon with 31 points.

Ball rundown went to 30 points.

Nearest the pins went to 5th Rob Bradshaw, 9th Kerrie Davey, 12th Matthew Skinner and 15th Bart McDonald.

Third Hole second shot: Simon Vigilante (Div 1).

Division 1: Winner: Roger Parker with 38 points. Runner Up: Daryl Barker with 37 points.

Division 2: Winner: Mark Ando with 37 points by countback. Runner Up: Bill Stainsby.

With some warmer weather on the radar this week, we hope to see the fields resemble normal numbers as winter finishes up and spring hopefully brings some warmer, drier golfing days.
