Andreatta tops the class at San Remo

With the weather looking bleak – and with a reasonably high expectation of rain – the South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling Group was pleasantly surprised with a lovely day for lawn bowls at San Remo.

There was no rain, almost no wind, and quite a bit of sunshine for most of the time as 31 bowlers tried their best to be part of the best team of the day.

There was lots of laughter across the green along with, as usual, a fair amount of friendly banter.

Only a few wrong bias deliveries today, but it helps with our Royal Children’s Hospital donations, so keep up the good work.

The weekly winners on 35 points were Mark Andreatta (S), Sue Stansfield (3), Gwen Jeffrey (2) and Bill Williams (L).

Runners up on 34 points were Peter Gratton (S), Phil Wright (3) and Michael Waring (L).

Best One Game on 24 points were Ken Barnes (S), Gillian Harper (3), Robyn Coulson (2) and Ruth Waring (L).

Many thanks to Mark for looking after the bar and also to Gwen for looking after the kitchen.

Thank you also to Peter, Pauline and John who keep our group playing each and every week.

Next week we will be at Kooweerup at 10am for a 10:30am start.

Please be on time to allow Peter adequate time to select the teams.
