Mueller mauls them at Lang Lang

LANG LANG GOLF

Cold but still conditions greeted golfers at Lang Lang on Saturday morning before the sun emerged to produce an almost perfect day for the strong field that took part in the stableford competition.

Ash Mueller mauled the opposition in Division 3, scoring a best-of-the-day 42 points to win by three shots from runner up Ray Dalrymple with 39 points. Dennis Barnett finished third on a countback.

Richard Briggs won Division 1 with 39 points, from runner up Stephen Rawlings with 38 points. Third placegetter was Craig Venville with 37 points.

The Division 2 winner was Jason Herbert with 39 points, from runner up Trevor Cridland with 38 points and third place went to Chris Kelsall with 37 points.

Ball rundown to 34 points.

• Tuesday Stableford Comp

A very cold and wet day saw a much smaller than usual field take on the tough conditions.

Kevin Cresp was the overall winner with a score of 36 points and runner up was Tony Golding with 35 points. Ball rundown to 33 points.

• Wednesday Ladies Stableford Comp

The winner was Heather Payne with 38 points and runner up was Chris Caig with 35 points. Ball rundown to 34 points

Nearest the pins went to Heather Payne on both the 9th and 15th.

• Thursday 2BBB/Stableford Comp

The stableford winner was Alan Courtney with 41 points by countback to runner up Robert Maskiell. Ball rundown to 36 points.

2BBB Winners: Robert and Robbie Maskiell won the day with a massive 50 points, from runners up Lionel Mahony and Richard Oldham with 46 points.

Nearest the pins went to 5th Warren Krahe, 9th Gino Manfredi, 12th Lindsay Knowles and 15th Dave Austin.

Our usual competitions will be running this week and the greens have now undergone their “mini” renovation so will be in top condition.
