SOUTH WEST GIPPSLAND BOWLS

What a great way to spend Australia Day with the South West Gippsland Mid-Week bowling group enjoying what could only be called a perfect day with friends.

The weather may have been quite wet on the way to San Remo, but once out on the green the weather was just glorious.

A total of 26 eager bowlers turned up to once more fight it out for the honour of leading the charge for the week.

As usual, there was lots of laughter, lots of friendly banter, and a few wrong bias bowls were the order of the day…filling that Royal Children’s Hospital tin even further.

The green was in immaculate condition and ran true to form, although one or two of our keen players managed to find the ditch at the far side, but overall, the bowling was exemplary.

Thank you once again to Peter and Pauline who look after us every week.

A huge thank you to Rob for standing in for his lost teammate who went to the wrong club (yes, he did finally make it to San Remo).

Also to Mark behind the bar as well as Dehlia in the kitchen.

The weekly winners on 35 points were Michael Dady (S), Frank d’Unienville (3) and Bill Williams (L), while runners up, on 34 points, were Michael Walton (S), Dehlia Cave (3), Enid Johnson (2) and Max Williams (L).

Best One Game winners, on 21 points, were Terry Floyd (S), Ken Barnes (3) and Tony Morris (L).

A big thank you goes to all our players for turning up and making this Australia Day so memorable.

We look forward to seeing everyone next week at Kooweerup at 10am for a 10:30am start.

Have a great week.
