Two-day cricket returns with a bang this week in the CCCA District competition as the third-last fixtures of the season commence.
All eyes will be on Upper Beaconsfield Recreation Reserve as the Maroons welcome Devon Meadows in a top of the table blockbuster.
Just four points separate the two sides who have been the best-performed teams in the competition by a distance, with Devon Meadows 32 points clear of Lang Lang in third.
Their first match-up back in round three saw the Panthers claim a 41-run win, led by Lucas Ligt’s 3-25 and 51.
A win for the Maroons will increase the gap between them and the Panthers, while Devon Meadows will leapfrog them if they claim the chocolates.
Cranbourne Meadows will need to be at their best if they wish to climb into the top four, as they tackle Lang Lang.
Lang Lang cruised to a nine-wicket win against them in October, but Cranbourne Meadows are riding high after their tight win over Emerald last week.
Just 12 points separate Lang Lang in third, and Cranbourne Meadows in fifth, with just two fixtures remaining after this round.
NNG/Maryknoll will make the short trip to Pakenham Upper Recreation Reserve to tackle the Yabbies as they aim to bounce back from their thumping loss to Devon Meadows, and Emerald will look to rebound from their tight loss last week with a win against bottom-placed Gembrook.
