Police appeal in sex fiend hunt

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a sexual assault in Hampton Park about 10pm on Saturday.
It is believed a 23yearold woman was walking through parkland off Fordholm Road when she was approached by a man who had been sitting on a nearby park bench.
The woman tried to run away but was grabbed by the hair and dragged back to the bench where she was stripped of her clothes and sexually assaulted.
She managed to push her attacker off and fled on foot along an access point into Kooyong Close.
The man then ran back towards the shopping precinct. The man is described as Caucasian, aged about 25, 172cm tall, with medium build, brown hair, blue eyes and wearing dark pants, a yellow Tshirt and an Essendon football jacket.
Anyone who may have seen or heard anything around the time of the assault or found any items of women’s clothing in the park is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Senior Detective Ollie Gaspari at Cranbourne CIU on 5995 4577.
