Fours prove the shining light

Side 4 Skip and mid-week selector Mick Feeley had a winning day at Cranbourne.

While the Victorian Open takes place this week Cranbourne Saturday competition had a rest day and enjoyed a fun social day at the club.

However, prior to this the mid-week competition played with some mixed results.

MID-WEEK BOWLS

It was a mixed day for the Cranbourne Bowling Club pennant teams on Tuesday.

Cranbourne 1 travelled to Bentleigh to do battle and put in a valiant effort before going down two rinks to one.

The team of Vic Butera, Karen Hickson, Gerry Dudink and Harry Van Soest won their match by three shots which were very impressive against tough opposition.

Cranbourne 1 (49) were defeated by Bentleigh 1 (60) – 2 points

Cranbourne 2 playing at home, and despite trying hard all day, came across a red-hot Edithvale team who won on all three rinks and were the better team on the day.

Cranbourne 2 (45) were defeated by Edithvale 1 (66) – 0 points

Cranbourne 3 travelled to Narre Warren and in a very close game, our teams drew two rinks and went down by six on the third rink. Great game, but Narre Warren took the win.

Cranbourne 3 (54) were defeated by Narre Warren 3 (60) – 2 points.

Cranbourne 4 playing at home against Cardinia Waters 2 was the clubs shining light on the day. With a couple of forced changes due to illness and injuries the whole team put in a great effort to win all three rinks and take maximum points.

Cranbourne 4 (63) defeated Cardinia Waters 2 (44) – 16 points.
