Ten arrested after police pursuit

Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after ten teenagers were arrested following a police pursuit into reports of stolen vehicles early this morning, Monday 25 July.

Police first observed an alleged stolen Volkswagen Tiguan and an alleged stolen BMW sedan travelling in convoy on Punt Road in Richmond around 12.45am, before the cars separated in the Pascoe Vale South area around 1am.

Police followed the Volkswagen through the city and through the south-eastern suburbs reaching speeds in excess of 170km/h.

The vehicle then stopped in White Street, Parkdale where one of the occupants fled the car just before 1.40am, police say, before it continued on to Kidds Road in Doveton, where the remaining offenders dumped the alleged stolen VW just after 2am.

The offenders ran through nearby parkland before being picked up by a Honda sedan on James Cook Drive, Endeavour Hills.

The car was then followed to an address on Princes Highway in Hallam where the offenders entered a house.

Police attended at the address and arrested ten male offenders.

Three males aged 18, three males aged 17, two males aged 16 and two males aged 15 have all been released pending further enquiries.

Detectives are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a confidential report at crimestoppersvic.com.au
