Cranbourne police attempted to intercept a stolen white Mercedes sedan on Cochrane Street in Cranbourne West about 10.30am.

The driver failed to pull over and evaded police.

The vehicle was seen driving erratically and speeding in Cranbourne before it was dumped in the car park of a shopping centre on Cranbourne Drive just after 11am, police say.

The male offender ran from the scene and no arrests have been made.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
