P-plater nabbed over 100 km/h in roadworks zone

A speeding p-plate driver forced roadworkers to move to safety as she narrowly missed a road safety barrier in Berwick on Sunday 17 July.

The 23-year-old Pakenham woman was detected allegedly driving at 145km/h in a 40km/h roadworks zone on the Princes Freeway at roughly 9.50pm, police say.

Cardinia Highway Patrol members intercepted vehicle which had four occupants onboard.

The provisional driver returned an evidentiary breath test of 0.092.

She has been charged with a range off offences including reckless conduct endangering life, dangerous speed and exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol.

She was bailed to face Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 24 November.
