Drunk driver nabbed at nearly five times the limit

A Hampton Park man had his license suspended on the spot for 12 months after allegedly recording a blood-alcohol reading of 0.245, police say.

Greater Dandenong Highway Patrol officers intercepted the 43-year-old man on Perry Road in Keysborough, at about 9.50pm on Sunday 1 May where he recorded his reading, nearly five times over the limit.

His car was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $878.50.

He is expected to face court on summons.
