CRANBOURNE Turf Club prides itself on providing ‘A Great Day Out’ and now it has been recognised for doing just that.
The club took out at the Customer Service Award at the prestigious Country Racing Club of the Year Awards on Saturday night at the Melbourne Convention Centre.
Racing Minister Denis Napthine said the club won the award for providing the ultimate ‘Great Day Out’, by continually improving and promoting the customer experience at its race meetings.
“The awards are about celebrating and acknowledging everyone involved in country racing, from the horses, jockeys and trainers to the club officials and volunteers who are a vital part of country racing,” he said.
“Country racing in Victoria has again had an extremely successful season.
“Crowds continue to flock to the tracks and more and more people are discovering the ‘Great Day Out’ experience.”
Cranbourne Turf Club chief executive Neil Bainbridge said the club was delighted to be recognised for its outstanding customer service throughout the year.
“The club prides itself on delivering a great day out and this award recognises that,” he said.
Mr Bainbridge said the award was for providing excellent customer service to race day patrons and providing excellent facilities on course.
“This award is a credit to all our staff and especially those in the food and beverage areas that ensure that all our patrons receive the best hospitality available in regional Victoria,” he said.
“The club provides excellent value for money throughout the season.
“Hospitality at our night meetings has proven to be very popular with our wide variety of dining options.
“In March this year we launched our $20 buffet for race day patrons on Friday night with outstanding success.
“However, I think the real key is the pride and passion that our 150 staff show during the year.”
Pakenham Racing Club was named the Centrebet Victorian Racing Club of the Year, which Cranbourne Turf Club won last year.
