LISA DEWY has a dream.
She dreams one day she will walk down the street and see slogans like “No it’s not OK”, “Words last forever” and “Anyone Anywhere” printed across the T-shirts of youths.
It’s a big dream, but the Langwarrin mum will do all in her power to make it happen.
After experiencing bullying herself in high school and then witnessing one of her daughters going through the same thing, Ms Dewy said she couldn’t let the issue pass her by.
So she started Don’t Bully, apparel and merchandise strongly against bullying.
“I’ve got the opinion that bullying happens everywhere, whether that’s at school or work,” she said.
“I hear a lot of stories, obviously the word bully and nice don’t go together, but these things aren’t nice at all.
“My main aim is to get the message across that is not OK to bully anyone anywhere.”
And it’s not just Lisa behind the push.
Each member of her family has added something to the merchandise.
The handwriting on the bright orange wristbands is her husband’s, and each of her three daughters have come up with a slogan.
She attended the Summit on Youth Suicide on the weekend to give her stance against bullying some exposure.
She also provides merchandise for schools and kindergartens.
