Lyndhurst Football Netball Club, Lynbrook Cricket Club and Southern Rangers Cricket Club are just some of the clubs set for a bigger home advantage thanks to the completion of stage one works on the Marriott Waters Pavilion at Marriott Waters Reserve, thanks to a $1.1 million funding package from the State Government.

The project has expanded the older netball club room building to include two new change rooms to cater for local football, cricket and netball.

Member for Cranbourne Pauline Richards MP was pleased to join representative of the home club to officially open the pavilion upgrades.

“With grassroots sports back on the park, more than ever growing communities and clubs like those here in Lyndhurst need quality facilities they can depend on,” Ms Richards said.

“Sport and active recreation are not just good for our physical and mental health, it brings people together and builds communities in good and tough times, that’s why projects like these are so important.”

A transformation of existing clubrooms into a larger community space with storage areas are still to come with stage two upgrades to start in January.

Once complete the pavilion upgrades will not only be a boost for local clubs and their players but will also provide new spaces for community groups to gather and meet and develop local programs.

The government’s $1.1 million investment in the project is through the Local Sports Grants initiative with the City of Casey managing delivery of the project.
