A feast of sights and sounds

THE Casey community will have the opportunity to celebrate the city’s cultural diversity at a multicultural festival to be held this month.
The inaugural Experience! multicultural festival, featuring Australian celebrity chef Mark Olive, will be held in Casey on Saturday 25 August.
The City of Casey is presenting the free event for residents and visitors to come together in a vibrant marketplace atmosphere and explore the diversity of their community.
City of Casey mayor Sam Aziz said the event was an opportunity for residents and visitors to share in the cultures of their neighbours.
“This free family event brings together a diverse range of community groups to showcase traditional arts and crafts, food, dance and music for everyone to enjoy,” he said.
“There will be free food tasting, kids activities, a free prize draw, cultural presentations and performances and traditional dress displays.
“The City of Casey is multicultural community and Experience! offers a chance to learn about the significance of these cultural influences which make up our great city,” Cr Aziz said.
Mr Olive, from The Outback Cafe, Masterchef and The Circle will be the special guest at the event and entertain with a cooking demonstration.
Experience! will be held on Saturday 25 August from 11am to 3pm at the Arthur Wren Hall, 16-20 Stuart Avenue, Hampton Park.
