IT was lights, camera and action in Cranbourne this week as the filming of Acts of God started rolling.
The new short film started production in Cranbourne on Monday with some local stars getting the opportunity to take part.
Members of the local community, students and Cranbourne CFA, volunteered their time to help film a large-scale evacuation scene shot at Cranbourne Carlisle Primary School.
Acts of God centres around the life of an 11-year-old girl named Joan, who lives in Cranbourne and has a growing obsession with natural disasters.
The film examines Joan’s personal and family life and how her obsession is taken to a new extreme.
The film will be created by Sarah-Jane Woulahan, an Australian producer who has created music videos for Silverchair, Missy Higgins and Living End as well as television shows for SBS and the ABC.
Ms Woulahan said she chose Cranbourne as the location for the film as it was similar to the suburb she grew up in Queensland.
“It reminded me of my childhood and home,” she said.
