CFA lights up lockdown

The Warneet-Blind Bight CFA is encouraging all local residents to ’Light Up Lockdown’ this Saturday 25 September.

As an integral part of the community of Blind Bight and Warneet, the CFA volunteers wanted to do a Covid-safe activity that helped make residents feel connected during the lockdown restrictions.

Volunteer Mellani Harris suggested the idea that locals could put up fairy lights, turn their porch lights on or stand outside with a torch, all at the same time, as a way to spread some joy.

“We came up with this great idea as a way to lift people’s spirits a bit,“ Mellani said.

“We have a small community here so why not light up people’s lockdown?“
