Explosive fire still under investigation

Multiple CFA crews were called to an explosive house fire in Hampton Park.

CFA was notified at 11.39pm to reports of a house fire at Willow Drive, Hampton Park on Thursday 2 September.

Eleven CFA vehicles attended and FRV also provided on-scene support.

When they arrived the house was fully alight with significant flames and explosions coming from the property.

The single occupant of the property had already evacuated.

An alert was issued to the communities of Narre Warren South, Narre Warren, Hallam and Hampton Park for smoke in the area.

Crews managed to contain the fire to the one property and the scene was declared under control at 12.28am.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
