Man charged after police pursuit

A 39-year-old Cranbourne man has been charged following an alleged pursuit in Melbourne’s south.

It’s alleged a stolen Audi reversed into a police vehicle and drove off towards Cranbourne on the morning of Sunday 29 August.

Police arrested the man on Peninsula Link after successfully deploying stop sticks.

The man has been charged with multiple offences including theft of motor vehicle, damage to emergency service vehicle, dangerous driving, reckless conduct endangering life.

He remains in hospital under police guard and is expected to face court on Tuesday 31 August.
