Resident sees off intruder

AN AGGRAVATED burglary in Endeavour Hills last Thursday saw the resident of the home get into a scuffle with the thief.
The incident occurred in Maryrose Crescent about 4.30am, where a male offender entered the garage of the home and stole a 2007 model Suzuki motorbike. He then pushed it to the nearby Reema Reserve before going back to the house.
Police said when he tried to enter the house through the bathroom window, he knocked over an item into the bathtub, which alerted the sleeping residents to the intruder’s presence.
A 22-year-old man, his 22-year-old girlfriend and her 18-year-old sister were home.
The man walked into the room and chased the intruder into the front of the house where they scuffled. The victim received minor bruising and the offender fled through the front door.
The victim described hearing the sound of a car take off.
The bike was recovered by police.
The intruder is described as about 180cm tall, with a solid build and his face was covered with a hood.
The victim said the man had an accent similar to that of a New Zealander.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
