TWO Hampton Park churches have opened their hearts and pockets to show they care about local families this Christmas.
Those involved with the Hampton Park Baptist Church and Casey Life Church held their Care Day on Saturday in Hampton Park.
Hundreds of free food parcels, toys and clothes were given away to those families in need in two hours on Saturday to make the festive season a little brighter.
Dozens of volunteers also assisted with the packing of food parcels and helped to bring a friendly smile on the day.
Pastor Graham Shand said many of the toys and clothes were donated by members of the two churches, bringing to reality the words of Jesus.
“It’s more blessed to give than receive,” he said.
“Care Day was a practical way of letting people know that we care, particularly during the Christmas season.”
