Cranbourne Scouts will enjoy an upgraded headquarters as part of the State Government’s $5.5 million commitment to build and refurbish scout halls across the state.
Cranbourne MP Pauline Richards recently opened the newly refurbished 1st Cranbourne Scout Hall – one of more than 20 sites to receive funding under the scheme.
The State Government contributed $100,000 to the Cranbourne hall’s upgrades, which have made the site safer, more comfortable and better for all members, with accessibility upgrades, carpark sealing, and removal of asbestos and dangerous trees.
Funding for the project was matched by Scouts Victoria and community partners, bringing the total investment in the upgraded site to $200,000.
Scouting is becoming increasingly popular across our state, bringing together Victorians as young as five years old to learn skills and enjoy adventure away from the pressures of everyday life.
“Quality scouting infrastructure brings great value to our community,” Ms Richards said.
“These upgrades mean that scouts can continue to create wonderful opportunities for our growing population of young people here in Cranbourne.”
