Robbed at axepoint

By Bridget Cook
POLICE are seeking public information following an armed robbery with an axe and machete on a business in Lyndhurst last week.
Detectives have been told that two men entered the Dandenong-Hastings Road premises at 10.33pm on Thursday and demanded the attendant place money into a bag they had with them.
The staff member handed over the cash drawer from the till before the two men ran off.
Police said both men wore dark clothing and balaclavas and were armed with an axe, which had a yellow handle, and a machete.
One man is described as Caucasian, 175cm tall with a medium build and distinctive tattoo on his right calf.
The second offender is described as Caucasian, 180cm tall with a medium build.
Police have released an image of the first offender, including his tattoo, to assist the investigation.
Police believe the incident may be linked to a series of armed robberies across Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs, and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
