The Rotary Club of Cranbourne has wasted no time in getting back to the business of supporting the community, with a donation that will keep the wheels turning for a local disability support service.

The Rotary Club donated $20,000 to Blairlogie Living and Learning to support the service to purchase a new car that will allow members to access the community.

Rotary also covered the cost of signage on the car, which was completed by Ulta Signs in Hallam.

Secretary Lloma Shaw said Cranbourne Rotary had been working with Blairlogie for many years, providing ongoing funding as well as large donations like this one.

“We have a wonderful ongoing relationship with them,” she explained.

“We continue to support them in any way we can, whether it’s small or large.”

The funds come from the Rotary Club’s annual charity golf day, which will be held again on Friday 12 March at Settler’s Run.

All funds raised from the golf day go straight back into the immediate community, providing assistance where it is needed.

Ms Shaw said that this year, funding will be provided to ACE Foundation, which assists students in the City of Casey who are facing challenges in pursuing education, as well as Cranbourne Information and Support Service.

Any money leftover will go to other community groups that need it, Ms Shaw said.

The Rotary Club of Cranbourne has been supporting the local community for over 60 years. Upcoming events include the Debutante Ball for Casey Grammar, as well as an ongoing scrap metal recovery campaign which helps to raise money for the club.

“We help out wherever we can,” Ms Shaw said.

The charity golf day is Cranbourne Rotary’s major fundraiser. The club is currently looking for sponsors for its 2022 event.

Rotary Club of Cranbourne is also actively seeking new members who are committed to supporting the community.
