MORE than 150 people turned out to celebrate two milestones for the City of Casey’s most visited tourist attraction last week.
The Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park in Pearcedale celebrated its 10th birthday on Wednesday 28 September and one of the park’s inhabitants, Frodo the Barking Owl, turned four years.
Federal Member for Flinders Greg Hunt treated Frodo to a birthday feast of rat.
The park celebrated the occasion in style, holding a family fun day with a visit from the CFA’s Captain Koala, face painting and sausage sizzle.
Mornington Peninsula and Westernport Biosphere Reserve Foundation chairman Rob Gell officially opened the Roland Johnson Wallaby Walk on the day.
Senior animal keeper Lisa Tuthill said people would now be able to feed and see more than 80 wallabies and kangaroos in the forest area at the back of the park during the day.
