A motorist, who was reportedly seen “swerving all over Pound Road”, has allegedly been nabbed driving more than five times over the legal blood alcohol limit.

Eagle eyed police from Cranbourne were patrolling the Hampton Park area at about 6.40pm on Monday night, 26 October, when they noticed the veering Toyota Camry.

The 52-year-old man behind the wheel was intercepted and provided a positive preliminary breath test before being conveyed back to Cranbourne Police Station.

It’s there he provided an evidentiary breath test and allegedly blew a whopping 0.290.The legal blood alcohol concentration (BAC) limit for fully licensed drivers in Victoria, and all other states and territories, is 0.05.

Police say the Hampton Park man’s licence was immediately suspended and his vehicle was impounded.

He is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving related offences.
