Dads and kids meet in the classroom

FATHERS stepped back into the classroom at Rangebank Preschool earlier this month.
The Cranbourne preschool held its annual fathers’ night on 1 September, which was sponsored by Ray White, Cranbourne.
Children and their fathers engaged in a range of activities on the evening including making clay creations, doing handprints, decorating self portraits of each other. They finished with a daddy book before they received their Father’s Day gifts.
They also took part in a nocturnal hunt outside.
Rangebank Preschool director Barbara Ryan said the evening was a great success.
“The children were extremely excited, especially with the nocturnal hunt and waiting for it to be dark so their torches could find all the nocturnal animals waking up,” she said.
“This is an annual event to include the dads in their child’s preschool experience, and I changed the session times to accommodate dads working.
“If dads cannot come, I request someone else does so the child has a special someone for the evening.”
