Grey murder: Hollow hauled before court

By Bridget Cook
A MAN faced the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, charged with the bashing death of low-level Cranbourne drug dealer Laurence Grey.
Homicide detectives charged 35-year-old Glenn Hollow with one count of murder on Monday following the death of Mr Grey, 48, on 22 August.
Detectives applied to the Magistrates’ Court on Monday to interview the man in custody at the Melbourne Assessment Prison.
Hollow made a brief appearance in court for a preliminary filing hearing on Tuesday, and was remanded until a committal mention hearing on January 16.
Mr Grey’s body was found by a friend about 8.15pm on Monday 22 August in the backyard of his Golden Wattle Close home in Cranbourne after attempts to contact him failed.
Police believe he had been there for several days.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ron Iddles, of the Homicide Squad, said investigations had revealed Mr Grey had been a low-level cannabis dealer for the past 10 years.
