Dressed to the nines

STUDENTS at Courtenay Gardens Primary School celebrated National Literacy and Numeracy Week in fitting fashion last week.
The week represents a collaborative approach by all governments and school communities to highlight the importance of literacy and numeracy skills.
On Friday, students and teachers came dressed up as book characters or something to do with maths and took part in a parade in front of the school.
Teacher Monique Breen said the school community got into the spirit and there were some creative costumes.
“There were lots of Harry Potters and superheroes,” she said.
“There were also lots of children dressed up in something to do with maths such as dice, calculators, numbers, dominoes and covers with numbers or maths problems.”
