Window to the arts

AN ECLECTIC range of artworks are currently on display for the public at the City of Casey Civic Centre Art Space.
Works by two regional artists, Rudy Azzola and Elma Morgan, will be on exhibition in the space until 29 September.
Azzola’s Window to the Soul exhibition is an intense collection of evocative canvases and drawings, dealing with issues such as loss and grief and, at the other end, hope and clarity.
Contrasting with these highly emotive pieces, Ms Morgan’s intricate crochet works reflect an era long-past.
Ms Morgan has spent years mastering 19th century crochet techniques and styles, which she combines with new techniques and contrasting threads such as recycled sari silks, hemps, jute, linen, wool and cotton.
She describes her exhibition as proving, ‘there is a lot more to crochet then just a ‘Granny Square’.
The Civic Centre Art Space is located at the City of Casey Council Offices in Narre Warren, and is open Monday to Friday 8am – 6pm.
Entry is free and most artworks are available to purchase.
