AN information session on the future of the southern brown bandicoot will be held at 7pm 25 August in Pearcedale. The endangered ground-dwelling marsupial was once a common sight, but is now restricted to southern Victoria.
The largest remaining population is in East Gippsland, but there have been reports of the unique bandicoot species in the Casey and Cardinia municipalities.
Experts from Trust for Nature, the City of Casey, Western Port Biosphere and Port Phillip and Western Port Biosphere CMA will be attendance.
The session will be held at the Pearcedale Public Hall, on the corner of Queens and Pearcedale roads on Thursday 25 August at 7pm.
