MELBOURNE Football Club is kicking goals on and off the field as part of its 30-year partnership with the City of Casey.
City of Casey mayor Shar Balmes said the Melbourne Football Club was heavily involved in the Casey community and was continuing to implement new activities, programs and initiatives that were beneficial to everyone.
“It is fantastic that Melbourne Football Club players have been out en masse in Casey; taking part in school holiday activities, implementing programs in schools and local sporting clubs and training at Casey Fields.”
Current programs include Read/Write Like a Demon, Don’t Drive Like a Demon, Kicking Goals and Digital Demons and new community programs including Kinder Kick and Dare to Dream will be implemented shortly.
Last month, players visited more than 30 schools in the City of Casey to take part in a variety of activities to encourage student participation at school and to share their love for the game.
On the first weekend of July, the players visited a number of Auskick centres throughout Casey to share their skills and inspire Casey’s future football stars.
Earlier in July, an Auskick Super Kid’s Clinic was also held with many local children enjoying football activities, including handballing and kicking, with their sporting idols.
