New president takes the helm

By Bridget Cook
THERESE Schreurs has taken over the wheel, becoming the new president of the Inner Wheel Club of Cranbourne.
Immediate past president Marleen Ling handed over the reins to Ms Schreurs at the club’s 19th annual changeover dinner held on Monday 11 July at Settlers Run Golf and Country Club.
Ms Schreurs said she was honoured to be made the president and looked forward to the year ahead.
“I’m looking forward to being able to contribute in a positive way to community, district and overseas projects that the committee will select.
“We will support a number of projects in the year to come, like we have in the past.
“Primarily it (Inner Wheel Club) is a friendship group, which likes to contribute to our local community, as well as district and international projects.”
Ms Schreurs said the past year had been successful.
She said the club had raised money through a number of fundraisers including a Bunnings barbecue and helped raise money for Daffodil Day and the Breast Cancer Foundation by hosting a longest lunch.
The new committee members for 2011/12 are president Therese Schreurs, junior vice president Gay Ellise, Jannene Madden secretary, Merna Stella treasurer, Debbie Kytraios internationals and club correspondent, Patsy Pinxt historian, Yvonne Bell social convenor and Robyn Cotter and Val Batchelor committee members.
