Picture painting to view

THE community is invited to attend the Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens Botanical Illustrators Groups upcoming open day.
Visitors will be able to watch artists working on their current painting and there will be some finished painting to view.
Group member Margaret Holloway said it was an excellent opportunity to get up close to the paintings and ask questions.
The group meets on the first and third Wednesday of the month where artists paint together and share ideas and information.
There are also two classes, both are held fortnightly, on Fridays from 10am to 3pm.
The class is limited to a maximum of nine students which allows personal tuition.
Watercolour, coloured pencils and graphite are the mediums used. Classes are suitable for beginners or those artists with some experience.
The open day will be held next Wednesday 20 July from 11am to 3pm in the Maud Gibson Room at the Royal Botanic Garden Cranbourne, Corner Ballarto Road and Botanic Drive Cranbourne.
For further information contact Margaret Holloway on 5998 5382 or 0438 985 382.
