BERWICK’S Kay Morland was inducted as the chairman of the A62 Inner Wheel District at the club’s 16th annual changeover dinner held last Saturday.
More than 110 people attended the dinner at the Elizabethan Receptions in Warragul, which was themed ‘Basic Black’.
The A62 district has 13 clubs from the outer south eastern region including Berwick, Cranbourne and Narre Warren.
Guests included Inner Wheel immediate past president Pam Watkins and her husband Kevin, A60 District chairman Gwen Rankins and her husband Ted and A61 incoming chairman Lorraine MacDonald and her husband David. Rotarians were also present, including Rotary Club of Berwick president Gary Cooper and wife Marlene and Rotary Club of Narre Warren president Roger McGill and wife Chris.
Mrs Macdonald welcomed all the guests to the annual changeover and thanked her committee members, fellow members and friends and family for their support throughout the year.
“As District Chairman for me this has been a special year I will always remember,” she said.
“Looking back now, I have faced some challenges, and been taken out of my comfort zone, but with the support of Inner Wheel friends who have accepted and believed in me, I have overcome these challenges and not done this job on my own. “I wish Kay and her executive all the very best for the coming year and hope they enjoy it as much I have this year. It will probably pass by just as quickly as this year has.”
Chairman Kay Morland said she looked forward to the year ahead and thanked everyone for a memorable evening.
“I read somewhere that you don’t always remember what people say to you, you don’t always remember what they were wearing or what they looked like, but you always remember how they made you feel,” she said.
“You make me feel good and I will always remember this night. Thank you for sharing it.”
