Healthy bottom line

STUDENTS at Cranbourne Secondary College have put on their running shoes to help raise much-needed funds for their stadium.
On Friday last week, all Year 7 and 8 students took part in the two-kilometre Adidas School Fun Run.
Sport co-ordinator KateFaulkner said all the money raised would go towards fixing the school’s stadium floor.
“The students were to all try and look for sponsors for the fun run,” she said.
“We asked them all to try and make at least $5. They have until after the school holidays to collect all their money.”
The Fundraising Group (TFG) general manager Brendan Hopp said the fundraiser was a healthy way to ensure all schools have a viable alternative to junk-food fundraising. TFG is the company behind the adidas School Fun Run.
“The event encourages all students to get involved and have fun while teaching them about fitness, health and goal setting,” he said.
By participating in this event, the school will now be in the running to win a Sports Day with the Stars, where Craig Mottram and other Adidas elite athletes will visit the school.
All students that raise $50 or more will be entered into a draw to win a family holiday to Hawaii.
Adidas will continue to support Cranbourne Secondary College in 2011 by donating part proceeds from footwear sales at The Athletes Foot to the school.
