A winning lottery ticket sold at a Cranbourne newsagency has scored a group syndicate a division one prize of more than $1.8 million.
No longer struggling with Monday blues, the syndicate’s entry was one of the 11 division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto $20 million super draw on Saturday 9 May.
The syndicate – a group of 10 Melbourne lottery players – took home $1,818,181.82.
As well as winning the division one prize, the group syndicate’s system entry also won division three 12 times and division four 15 times, boosting the syndicate’s total prize to $1,832,898.92.
Each member of the syndicate receives a share worth $183,289.89. Shares in the group syndicate were sold at four outlets across Melbourne including one at Spring Hill News at Springhill Shopping Centre in Cranbourne.
The winning group syndicate was set up by Highlands News and Lotto and manager Kevin Ung said he was thrilled for the winning customers.
“How exciting for the winners!” he said.
“I will be celebrating this win and sharing the wonderful news with all of my customers.
“Last week I had a feeling good fortune was on the way for our outlet, and how true that feeling was!
“I feel privileged to have set up a syndicate that scored division one and made so many winners happy.
“Nothing else compares to selling someone a division one winning ticket.”
A Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said some members of the winning syndicate held unregistered entries and might have yet to discover their winning news.
“What a great way to start your working week – discovering you’ve pocketed more than $180,000,” she said.
“While we’ll be reaching out to those syndicate members who registered their entry to their Tatts cards, there are several syndicate members who have unregistered entries and may not yet know they’re part of this winning group.
“If you purchased a share in a syndicate for the weekend’s TattsLotto $20 Million Super draw, today’s the day to check it.”
The syndicate’s jackpot win comes just weeks after a Narre Warren man claimed $23m in Powerball division one prize on 23 April.
Mystery had surrounded the winner after the prize went unclaimed for five days following the draw.
