It was case of teachers seeing double when four sets of twins walked through the gates for their first day of class at Cranbourne South Primary School.
Nellie and Lena, Isaac and Maddix, Maddison and Olivia, Gemma and Jaxon – all had their sibling to make their first day of school that little bit easier.
The twins – two of which are identical – were joined by 55 preps who took their first steps to school on Thursday 30 January.
Principal Monique Corcoran said there were some tears as parents farewelled their children.
“We had one screamer,” she laughed.
But with the school’s transition preparation program, which ran at the end of last year, this would facilitate a happy and exciting start to school life for new students, Ms Corcoran said.
And despite new school’s opening close-by, Ms Corcoran was quick to point out Cranbourne South Primary continued to be “thriving community orientated” school.
“We are the school of choice; people travel to us,” she said.
And when it comes to remembering names, Ms Corcoran says “”finding a little quirk” always helped.
“You do get it right pretty quickly.”
Michelle Hughes, mother of twin boys Isaac and Maddix, said she was excited for them but a little sad too.
Michelle said the pair, known as the ‘twinadoes,’ had embraced their first day and look forward to making new friends.
When they grow up, Michelle said Isaac wants to be a “tradie like daddy” and Maddix wants to drive an excavator.
