Drugs swoop

A WOMAN has been arrested following a police raid on a Lyndhurst property which saw them seize more than 200 cannabis plants.
Police allege the property, in Wild Sage Court, had a full hydroponics set up.
This came as a series of raids were conducted simultaneously by the Frankston police taskforce on 10 houses in Carrum Downs, Sandhurst, Cranbourne, Waterways, Lyndhurst and Springvale yesterday (Wednesday) morning.
A 24-year-old man from Cranbourne is also in custody over drug related offences.
A total of nine people across the south east area have been arrested and about 1000 cannabis plants, $90,000 in cash, a large amount of household furniture and five vehicles have been seized.
Detective Inspector Maurice Lynn said investigations were still continuing. “We expect to seize $4 million worth of houses, where the plants are being grown,” he said.
Six men and two women have been charged with cultivating a commercial quantity of a drug of dependence, two of whom have also been charged with cultivating and trafficking a large quantity of drug of dependence.
