Student art goes 3D

Cranbourne Homemaker Centre has invited the school to create artwork for a community initiative.
It is not the first time the school has been recognised for its students’ artistic talents, having won art competitions and been selected to paint on community totem poles.
Last year, they won the CFA school art competition held at Cranbourne Homemaker Centre in commemoration of the first anniversary of Black Saturday.
This year they have been invited to paint a reptile painting to be used in conjunction with the upcoming reptile display to be held at Cranbourne Homemaker Centre during the Easter holiday period.
Teacher Joy Andrews has been assisting the students with the piece.
The students have created an artwork using various mediums including bubble wrap, egg cartons, cardboard rolls, newspaper, paper clay with paints and mosaic artwork techniques to create a scene.
Ms Andrews said she was thrilled that the children could once again put their artistic talents towards another community project.
“It’s great to be able to have the children’s artwork presented in the public domain,” she said.
“It gives them confidence in their own ability which will take them a long way in life.
“The children also have a lot of fun in doing the projects and most importantly with each new project, they research the topic as well as learning new techniques in art.”
The painting is being used in the advertising of the reptile display. The original 3D painting is on display in Pet Goods Direct.
The reptile display will be held at the Cranbourne Homemaker Centre on Wednesday 13 April from 10am to 2pm.
