Dogs in pink

By Bridget Cook
GREYHOUNDS racing at Cranbourne have helped raise $4500 for a breast cancer fundraiser in February.
‘Go the Pink Dog’ was a campaign conducted throughout February aimed at supporting The McGrath Foundation.
Each time ‘The Pink Dog’, number eight, won a SKY Channel telecast race in Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia or Tasmania, $500 was donated to The McGrath Foundation.
Nine Cranbourne greyhound races were won by the greyhound wearing the pink number 8 rug during February, which raised $4500.
The national total reached $120,500, excelling the $100,000 target.
As well as educating women to be ‘breast aware’, the McGrath Foundation also employs 61 McGrath Breast Care Nurses across Australia.
