CASEY Radio is calling on the community to support it in its week-long marathon fundraiser.
The local community radio station, 97.7 FM, launched a radiothon on Monday, which will continue until midnight, Sunday 13 March.
The station, a not-for-profit organisation which serves communities including Casey, Greater Dandenong and Cardinia, relies heavily on support from its members, the local community and the station’s sponsor.
During the radiothon, people are urged to ring in the station and pledge a donation.
Station manager Geoff Ablett said they endeavoured to raise $10,000 during the radiothon week to help upgrade their broadcast equipment.
“We are looking for donation from the local community and businesses during the radiothon,” he said.
“All donations would be gratefully received, each being acknowledged live on air throughout Radiothon Week, with an up-to-date tally every hour.”
