Cranbourne West man’s ‘very happy’ $1m win

A Cranbourne West man has declared he experienced a ‘very happy moment’ the instant he discovered he won $1 million in the Lotto draw.

The happy man held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw, drawn Monday 30 September and takes home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.

Sharing his joy with a Tatts official this morning, the overjoyed winner confessed he initially didn’t believe his eyes.

“I can’t believe it! I checked my numbers online and saw that I had all six,” he said.“I double checked my ticket and double checked everything but it’s only when you confirmed it just now that I finally believe it’s true.

“It is a very happy moment!

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed he always bought his entries at the same outlet – Marriot Waters Sub News and Gifts at Marriot Waters Shopping Centre in Lyndhurst.

“I always buy this ticket and every week I choose the same numbers which are birthdays and then add a few random numbers,” he said, adding “By god’s grace this week my six numbers came up”.

When asked how he planned to enjoy his new millionaire status the thrilled winner thought of his beloved family first.

“I’ll share it with my wife, my son and daughter,” he declared.

“It will be enough for me to pay off my home loan and then set up my children with deposits for their first home so they are all set for the future.”

Marriot Waters Sub News and Gifts owner Kanya Seng said selling a division one winning entry was a dream come true.

“Ever since I bought my shop, I’ve dreamt of selling a division one winning entry and making my customers dreams come true and now it has,” she said.

“I am so excited and I’ve been telling every single customer who has come into the shop today.

“They are all really happy for us and are hoping it’s their turn next.

“This is the first division one winning entry we’ve sold so we are thrilled, she said.

“It’s great to hear it is a local and a regular to out outlet.

“Congratulations to our winner! We wish them all the best with their prize”
