CASEY is gearing up for a charity concert to raise money for the Victorian and Queensland flood victims.
Some of Casey’s best musical talent will be on display at the special mayoral concert at the new River Gum Performing Arts Centre in Hampton Park at 7pm on 12 February.
The concert was organised in hours, with names such as Madison Pritchett, who was a 2010 X-Factor finalist, Jessica-Jade Bruce, Andrew Swift, Tara Leigh Dowler and Casey Choir to hit the stage.
Casey councillor Wayne Smith, who has organised 13 mayoral charity concerts, is the chair of the volunteer organising committee.
Cr Smith said Casey’s arts community was known to rally to support those facing disaster, as was evident at the Casey Cares concert after the Black Saturday bushfires. He said the volunteers had shown a great amount of generosity and dedication.
Casey council has already pledged $10,000 to Victorian and Queensland flood appeals.
Tickets cost $12 and are only available online. To book visit www.trybooking.com/LCD
