CASEY council has joined the Interface Group of Councils – designed to plan and manage major growth issues in rural and urban areas.
Casey was invited to join the group, which includes eight other councils that form a ring around metropolitan Melbourne.
The Interface Group of Councils has been in operation for more than 10 years, with its initial focus being managing the adverse effect of urban growth on rural and outlying areas of Melbourne.
Casey is the largest municipality in Victoria, with about 146 people moving in each week.
Mayors and chief executives meet to discuss issues concerning the councils.
