BUDDING young artists are encouraged to pitch their ideas to create a public artwork display at The Shed, Cranbourne’s popular redeveloped skate park.
Casey mayor Shar Balmes is calling for young people to get involved in the workshops – and to come up with concepts for the artwork at The Shed.
The Shed recently underwent a $1.2 million transformation, making it the largest skate park in the southern hemisphere.
Local artist Natalie Kosnar will lead the project and encourages people aged between 10 and 25 to take part in the workshops.
“I encourage Casey’s young people to get involved in this important public art project which, when completed, will truly reflect the thoughts, feelings and aspirations of today’s youth,” Cr Balmes said.
About 400 people are visiting The Shed every day since the redevelopments.
The workshops will be held today and Saturday from 11am to 12.30pm at The Shed at 65 Berwick-Cranbourne Road.
